Selank + Semax is a research blend combining two well-characterised synthetic neuropeptides of Russian origin: Selank (a heptapeptide derived from tuftsin) and Semax (a heptapeptide derived from ACTH(4-7)). Each peptide has an independent and extensively studied mechanism of action in preclinical models. Their combination is of research interest for investigating complementary or synergistic effects on neurotrophin expression, GABAergic modulation, and stress-related signalling pathways. This blend is supplied as a lyophilised research compound for in vitro and preclinical investigation.
Selank has been studied in preclinical models for its effects on GABAergic neurotransmission and GABA-A receptor complexes, as well as BDNF expression and enkephalin degradation. Semax acts primarily through modulation of BDNF and NGF expression in the hippocampus and frontal cortex, with effects on dopaminergic and serotonergic neurotransmission. Together, the blend is a useful tool for studying the interplay between GABAergic modulation and neurotrophin signalling in preclinical models.
