Frequently Asked Questions

What is peptide reconstitution?

Peptide reconstitution is the process of mixing lyophilized (freeze-dried) peptide powder with bacteriostatic water to create a liquid solution for research purposes. This process allows for accurate measurement and handling of peptides in laboratory settings.

How much bacteriostatic water should I use?

The amount of bacteriostatic water depends on your desired concentration and ease of measurement. Common ratios are 1-3ml of water per 5mg of peptide. More water creates a lower concentration, making it easier to measure smaller doses accurately.

What are U100 syringe units?

U100 refers to insulin syringes where 100 units equals 1ml. These syringes are commonly used in research settings because they allow for precise measurement of small volumes. Each unit represents 0.01ml.

How should reconstituted peptides be stored?

Reconstituted peptides should be stored in a refrigerator at 2-8°C (36-46°F) and protected from light. Most reconstituted peptides remain stable for 2-4 weeks when stored properly. Always refer to specific storage guidelines for individual peptides.

Why is accurate dosing important in research?

Accurate dosing is critical in research to ensure reproducible results, maintain experimental integrity, and establish reliable dose-response relationships. Precise measurements allow researchers to compare findings across studies and draw valid scientific conclusions.
