P21 (P021)

P21, also designated P021, is a synthetic tetrapeptide (Ac-DGGLAG-NH2 core sequence) derived from the CNTF (Ciliary Neurotrophic Factor) binding domain, specifically designed to mimic the neurotrophic activity of CNTF without engaging the full cytokine receptor complex. It was developed as a research tool to investigate CNTF-like signalling in the context of neurodegeneration, synaptic plasticity, and cognitive function, with particular interest in its potential to modulate tau pathology and promote neurogenesis. Mechanism of Action
