Cartalax
Cartalax
Cartalax is a research-grade tetrapeptide of Russian bioregulator origin, developed for preclinical investigation of cartilage tissue biology and musculoskeletal function. As part of the Khavinson peptide bioregulator series, Cartalax is a short-chain peptide designed to interact with chondrocyte DNA and modulate gene expression associated with cartilage matrix synthesis and tissue homeostasis. It is supplied as a lyophilised powder for use in in vitro and in vivo research models.
Mechanism of Action
Cartalax is hypothesised to act as a gene expression modulator in cartilage tissue, interacting with chromatin and influencing the transcription of genes involved in chondrocyte differentiation, collagen and proteoglycan synthesis, and extracellular matrix maintenance. Peptide bioregulators of this class are thought to exhibit tissue-specific activity by binding to complementary DNA sequences in target cells, thereby restoring or maintaining normal cellular function in aged or damaged cartilage. Research has focused on its potential role in chondrocyte viability and articular cartilage integrity in experimental models.
Research Applications
- Chondrocyte biology and cartilage matrix synthesis studies
- Peptide bioregulator gene expression modulation research
- Articular cartilage repair and osteoarthritis modelling
- Ageing and cellular senescence investigation in musculoskeletal tissue
- Collagen and proteoglycan biosynthesis studies
